David Beckham resigned from England Captaincy, the morning after his team was defeated by Portugal in Penalties in World Cup’06 Quarterfinals. It seems he jumped before he was pushed. Anyway Beckham has been a massive player; he scored some vital goals and deserves a mass of credit. His trademark curling free kicks even inspired the name of the popular 2003 movie “Bend It Like Beckham”. Cisse was France’s leading scorer in World Cup qualifying with four goals. May be French team will miss the presence of Cisse in coming World Cup’ 2006 matches.

This could be a bad news for Italian supporters that Christian Vieri (Italian Striker) will not be playing in world cup’2006 as he had an operation some times back. In his place may be AC Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi will be joining the team as a striker.
