Atlast !!! Italy captured the World Cup 4th time

Italy
Match Summary:
Yeah, after 24 yrs. of long wait Italy won the 2006 World Cup defeating France 5-3 on penalties after the teams had battled to a 1-1 draw over 120 minutes of absorbing football. In 6th minute France earned a Penalty and Zidane did not make any mistake to convert it. But the lead did not last for long. Azzuri got a corner and Pirlo sent an out-swinging ball towards the penalty spot and Materazzi jumped above Vieira to equalize the scores.

In 2nd half both the teams were in attacking mode. But France looked more dangerous and Italy was forced onto the backfoot. Once again Pirlo’s had taken free kick and Toni headed the ball into France net but referee gave offside. France dominated the game but failed to break the Italy’s defense wall.

And referee ended the full 90 mins. game with final whistle. Till full time score was draw (1-1).

In extra time’s 2nd part Zidane’s career came to an ugly end when he thrusted his head into the midsection of Materazzi, Referee Elizondo, who didn’t notice the incident but after consulting with his assistant - was obliged to send Zidane off.

Also extra time came to end with 1-1, and decided for Penalty Shoot out as the soccer rules. Penalties result was :

Hi my name is Katie Parrotta and I am related to SIMONE PERROTTA! I figured out that my great grandfather and his great grandfather were brothers. During the time of immigration, my Perrotta family came to America and the officials changed the name to Parrotta. I am 100% Italian and I love the Italian team so of course I wanted the Italian team to win. The games have been such an inspiration to me. I wish someday I can also play at that level, too. I play for a U-14 travel/competitive team called the River City Devils (based in Hamilton, New Jersey). Someday my family and I will come visit the beautiful land of Italy and watch a soccer game. Now I know this has nothing to do with the soccer team but my goal in life is to become a professional soccer player in Italy, a fashion designer in Milan, Italy (the capital of fashion as I call it), or an English teacher in Italy. I think the World Cup Game was a superb game to watch as the Italian team beat the French team (I knew that that was going to happen). I would like to meet my cousin SIMONE PERROTTA very much so. I am a midfielder just like him! You have inspired me in the game of soccer Simone!
Please take a look at my club’s website at http://www.rivercityac.org

    Sincerely,
    Katie Parrotta (katie@parrotta.org)
