FIFA World Cup Awards

At the end of each World Cup final tournament, 5 awards were presented to the players and teams for their achievements other than winning the tournament outright. And this year a new award has been introduced i.e. The Gillette Best Young Player Award.
1) The Golden Boot/Shoe - The Golden Boot (or Golden Shoe) is awarded to the top goalscorer of the World Cup final tournament. It was first awarded in 1930.

2) The Golden Ball Award is for the best player. It was first introduced in 1982. FIFA announces a shortlist of ten nominees, which is then voted by media representatives. The most voted player is elected to win the Golden Ball, the second most voted player wins the Silver Ball and the third most voted player wins the Bronze Ball.

3) The Yashin Award is for the best goalkeeper (first awarded in 1994). The award is named in honour of the late and legendary Russian goalkeeper, Lev Yashin.

5)The Most Entertaining Team Award is for the team that has entertained the public the most during the World Cup final tournament, as determined by general public poll, (first awarded in 1994).
